We refurbish donated laptops, Chromebooks, and desktops and hand them to California adults finishing our free 8-week digital literacy and AI course. Drives are wiped to federal standards, you get a 501(c)(3) tax receipt, and nothing usable is thrown away.

What we accept
Laptops and Chromebooks
2017 or newer, charger included. These become the device a graduate keeps.
Desktops and monitors
Working towers, all-in-ones, and 20" or larger monitors for our classroom lab.
Tablets
iPads and Android tablets that still receive security updates.
Accessories
Keyboards, mice, webcams, headsets, hotspots, docks, and unopened cables.
What we can't use
- CRT monitors, printers, and fax machines
- Laptops with missing screens or swollen batteries
- Devices older than roughly 2015 that can't run a current OS
- Anything with a locked firmware or MDM enrollment we can't clear

Tell us what you have
Send a short message with the model and quantity. Companies retiring 10+ devices get a single scheduled pickup.

We wipe it properly
Every drive is data-sanitized to NIST 800-88 standards before anything is reused. You receive a certificate of destruction on request.

Refurbish and assign
Devices are repaired, updated, and matched to a learner enrolled in our 8-week digital literacy and AI course.

Tax receipt and impact note
You get a 501(c)(3) acknowledgment for your records, plus a note telling you where the device ended up.
Retiring a fleet? We handle the whole refresh.
IT teams use us as the end of their hardware lifecycle: one scheduled pickup, an asset-level receipt, certificates of data destruction, certified recycling for anything unusable, and a short impact report your CSR team can publish. Fifty retired laptops equals fifty graduates who leave our program with a working device.
Computer donation questions
Is a computer donation tax deductible?
Yes. Futurenomic Resources is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so in-kind gifts of equipment are generally deductible at fair market value. We provide a written acknowledgment listing the items and date received; your tax advisor determines the deductible value.
Will my data be erased?
Yes. Every storage drive is wiped using a multi-pass, NIST 800-88 compliant process before a device is reused, and drives that cannot be verified are physically destroyed. We can issue a certificate of data destruction for corporate donors.
Do you pick up donations?
For donations of 10 or more devices anywhere in the San Francisco Bay Area, yes — we schedule a pickup at your office. For single devices, we arrange a drop-off or prepaid shipping label.
What happens to computers you can't use?
Anything not suitable for a learner is recycled through a certified e-waste processor, never landfilled or exported. Working parts are salvaged for repairs.
Can I donate money instead of hardware?
Yes, and it often goes further. $250 funds one refurbished Chromebook a graduate keeps, and $1,000 funds a fully equipped seat — device, internet, materials, and coaching.
Do you accept donations from outside California?
We accept shipped devices from anywhere in the U.S. Our learners are in California, so pickups are limited to the Bay Area.
One donated laptop removes one barrier.
