What we can and cannot use
Yes, please
- Laptops and Chromebooks from roughly the last eight years
- Small-form desktops with a power cable
- Tablets that still receive security updates
- Chargers, docks, keyboards, mice, and USB headsets
- Machines you have already wiped or removed the drive from

- CRT monitors and printers
- Laptops with a cracked screen and no working display output
- Machines locked to a corporate MDM you cannot release
- Devices with swollen or leaking batteries

Tell us what you have
Device type and rough count. Companies get a pickup window; individuals get a drop-off or shipping option.

We sanitize the drive
Every drive is wiped to NIST SP 800-88. Failed drives are destroyed, not reused. Written confirmation on request.

We test and refurbish
RAM, battery, keyboard, and ports get checked. Missing parts are replaced from donated spares.

A graduate receives it
Devices are issued to adults completing our free 8-week course, so every machine goes to someone already doing the work.

Computer donation questions
Where can I donate a computer in San Francisco?
Futurenomic Resources accepts laptop, Chromebook, tablet, and desktop donations from individuals and companies across San Francisco and the Bay Area. Individual donations can be dropped off or shipped, and we schedule free pickup for donations of 10 or more devices.
Do you wipe the data before reusing a computer?
Yes. Every drive is sanitized to the NIST SP 800-88 standard before a device is reissued, and drives that fail testing are physically destroyed rather than reused. Companies can request written confirmation for their asset records.
Is a computer donation tax deductible?
Futurenomic Resources is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so donated equipment is generally tax deductible. We issue a receipt listing the device count and donation date. Your accountant determines the deductible value.
What computers can you accept?
Laptops and Chromebooks from roughly the last eight years, tablets, and small-form desktops. We can accept machines with no operating system or a wiped drive. We cannot use CRT monitors, printers, or laptops with cracked screens and no working display.
Do you offer pickup for companies?
Yes. For 10 or more devices in San Francisco, Oakland, or the wider Bay Area we schedule a pickup at your office, including after-hours windows for IT teams doing a refresh.
What happens to a device I donate?
It is tested, sanitized, repaired if needed, and issued to an adult who completes our free 8-week digital literacy and AI course. Devices that cannot be reused are recycled through responsible e-waste channels.
