Is my donation to Futurenomic Resources tax deductible?
Yes. Futurenomic Resources is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, so cash donations from US taxpayers are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. You receive an emailed receipt immediately after giving.
Where does the money actually go?
Cash gifts fund three things: seats in the free 8-week digital literacy and AI course, refurbishing costs for the laptops graduates receive, and connectivity support so students can practice at home. Our financials and filings are published on our transparency page.
What is the digital divide, specifically?
It is the gap between people who have reliable devices, internet, and the skills to use them, and people who do not. In practice it looks like an adult applying for jobs on a cracked phone screen, or a senior locked out of a benefits portal. Money closes it faster than anything else because it buys all three pieces at once.
Can I give monthly instead of once?
Yes, and monthly is more useful to us than a single gift of the same annual size because it lets us commit to a class before the cohort starts. Monthly giving starts at $10 per month.
Do you take donor-advised fund or stock gifts?
Yes. DAF grants, appreciated stock, and employer matching gifts are all accepted. Contact us and we will send the transfer details and our EIN.
Can my company match my gift?
Most Bay Area tech employers match nonprofit donations, often one-to-one and sometimes two-to-one. Submit our name and EIN through your employer's giving portal after you donate and the match usually clears within a few weeks.
